How a passive RFID tag works

A passive tag is a type of RFID tag that does not contain a battery; the power is supplied by the reader. When radio waves from the reader are encountered by a passive RFID tag, the coiled antenna within the tag forms a magnetic field. The tag draws power from it, energizing the circuits in the tag. The RFID Tag then sends the information encoded in the tag's memory, which is picked up by RFID Antennas.

Radio Frequency Indentification (RFID) Tags

RFID tags come in many sizes and form factors.  They offer a wide range of performance, read distances and are selected based on what is being tracked.  There are numerous RFID tag manufacturers out there and WiseTrack is compatible with all of them.  From our many years of RFID experience, WiseTrack understands the science behind selecting the proper RFID tags and knows that tag read rates are key for any RFID asset tracking solution to be successful.
